At MIMOSA Studio we are committed to creating 100% sustainable fashion.

We take very seriously the impact we have and the footprint we leave on our planet. We are conscious women who take examples from other women to teach and leave a better world for future generations. That is why, from MIMOSA Studio we want to escape from big productions and bet for a local and centralized production. We have analyzed and studied each part of our business to carefully choose which suppliers and fabrics to work with and give the opportunity to women who strive for the same goal: to wear sustainable and local garments.

Our products have all been designed in Barcelona to merge into comfortable, versatile and trendy garments, prioritizing the naturalness of each fabric. We have four main suppliers of fabric and trimmings that are located in Badalona, Mataró and Santa Cristina d'Aro offering us the guarantee of having quality and sustainability certificates to ensure good practices and ethics of the product. The fabrics we use are certified by OEKO-TEX®, GOTS and OCCGuarantee.

  • OEKO-TEX® is a certificate that ensures that the fabric has been tested for harmful substances and that, therefore, the article is harmless to human health.

  • GOTS, the Global Organic Textile Standard, is the worldwide textile processing agency for organic fibers, including ecological and social criteria that qualify as organic products in the various processes of the textile supply chain.

  • OCCGuarantee is the own certificate of our main product supplier. It is a certificate that encompasses the entire process of sustainable, ecological and transparent production through a biodynamic cultivation of the territory, meaning that not only cotton is produced on the land, but is mixed with a variety of foods so that each farmer who owns his area can autoabastersce with foods such as sesame, peanuts, cucumbers, etc.
No machinery is used to work the land, but the fields are worked with animal traction, without insecticides and cultivated only with water from the rain. In this way, cotton fabrics are obtained in natural colors such as raw, green or brown, making it a pure, biodegradable and ethical product in its entirety.

Likewise, we also want to tell you where each fabric
comes from and the environmental and healthy advantages they have.

Organic Cotton Colors, Santa Cristina D'Aro: The company has a track record of 30 years and integrates all the steps of cotton transformation: from the fiber to the final garment. In MIMOSA Studio we have opted for the use of their fabrics grown in the fields of Brazil. At the origin we find family farmers who are part of a local Social Project. They are the real shareholders of our fabrics. They have the necessary experience and receive adequate training to offer us naturally colorful organic cotton grown under agro-regenerative cultivation practices. This is an ethical economic model where the human rights of the people who are part of the whole fiber transformation chain are respected, with special attention to the farmer as the weakest actor. Furthermore, 10% of the value we pay annually for cotton is reinvested in improvements to the production system within the community.

To work it, farmers irrigate the crops with rainwater, without artificial irrigation and without the use of genetically modified seeds. To preserve the intact value of the seeds, the fields are not worked with agricultural machinery, but all crops are cultivated naturally, manually and organically, free of insecticides. In this way, the crops become agro-regenerative crops.

Once the organic and pure cotton is obtained, it is sent to Europe where high quality combed yarn is produced, controlling all the transformation processes from the seed to the fiber. As no chemicals, insecticides or dyes are applied, only natural colored yarn is obtained in raw color as they grew naturally more than 5000 years ago. Varieties forgotten for decades due to the irruption of the Industrial Revolution and the need to intensively produce raw colored cotton. The controlled and studied process of our supplier endorses them with the OCCGuarantee certification, controlling where and how our OCCGuarantee® cotton is transformed from the field to the final garment. This allows us to know 100% the degree of sustainability and ethics implicit in our activity.

Wearing MIMOSA Studio with OCCGuarantee certification means enjoying the warmth, comfort and well-being that our 100% organic cotton offers in contact with the skin. Thanks to the purity of our cotton free of toxics and chemicals we ensure garments totally harmless to people's health. MIMOSA Studio wants to offer garments that allow us to live and fight all these daily battles with a touch of elegance, trendy and with the same attribute, 100% sustainable but also offer textile solutions to groups affected by Dermatitis, dermal sensitivities, Psoriasis, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), Electro Sensitivity, Fibromyalgia and a wide range of dermatological diseases.
